Freshmen Scholarship

Entering freshmen scholarships are awarded to exceptional candidates in our applicant pool each year. SMSU recognizes the value of academic merit, athletic ability, diversity, and skills in the arts which make our community thrive.

Scholarship candidates need to meet the following requirements:

1. Have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better during high school
2. Have earned a 22 or better on the ACT test or a 1020 or better on the SAT test
3. Be admitted to Southwest Minnesota State University
4. Submit a SMSU Scholarship Application.

Transfer Scholarship

Transfer Student Scholarship Application

To be considered for Transfer Scholarships, you must meet the following requirements:

* Have completed a Transfer Scholarship Application
* Enroll as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credits)
* Take classes on the SMSU campus (2+2 programs are excluded from scholarship opportunities)
* Have an AA, AS, or AAS degree with at least a 2.5 GPA
