The Academic Commons is a study center located in IL 224. Students are invited to study, meet friends, and seek assistance with coursework.

Our Mission is to create enhanced opportunities for learning by bringing an array of student academic support services together in a central, visible, and academically-identified location to facilitate seamless access to services for SMSU students and education resources for the wider community.

Education Students: A variety of materials and resources have been added to the Education Curriculum Library, most of which are available for checkout.

 

Need Academic Help?

Stop in or make an appointment to work with one of our many tutors, at no cost to you! We offer general academic tutoring in many subjects, a 24 station computer lab, and many resources to make your learning experience better.

We are home to the Education Department Learning Center, Math Lab, and Science Help Desk.

Just Need a Place to Study or Hang Out?

Everyone is welcome at the Academic Commons, a great gathering place! There are plenty of tables, chairs, and seating arrangements for group or individual study.

There are 24 computers available for your use or bring your laptop - we've got wireless internet access and outlets available for recharging!
